Many people have called their local library and discovered the forms and publications they needed. The Inter- nal Revenue Service is looking for volunteers to assist participating lo- cal libraries in stocking forms and publications to provide assistance to the community during the coming tax filing season. Volunteers in the Adopt-A-Library program are responsible for checking Obituary ORVEL C. MORRIS Orvel C. Morris, 68, died suddenly Wednesday, November 27, 1991, in Mid-Valley Hospital at Omak. He was born May 14, 1923, to Harley and Myrlle Morris at Tacoma. When he was two years old, the family moved to Benton City, and then to the Cameron Lake area of the Colville Indian Reservation when he was five years old. He attended school in Cameron lake, then graduated from Okanogan High School in 1940. Mr. Morris entered the U.S. Navy in July 1942. After his service, he became a smoke jumper for the U.S. Forest Service at Winthrop. He re- enlisted in the Navy in 1950 and served until his retirement in February 1966. During his military career he earned several honorary medals, including five Good Conduct Medals, the American Campaign medal, The European- African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, China Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, Air Medal and Gold Star. After leaving the Navy, Mr. Morris was a fire patrol pilot, then a copilot of fire retardant planes for several different companies. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Survivors include three brothers, Harley (Bud) Morris of Okanogan, Melbourne Morris of Riverside, and Leland (Pib) Morris of Omak; five sisters, Arlene Joy of Okanogan, Violet Figlenski of Riverside, Gwen Cowl•shaw of Wenatchee, Marjorie Gargett of Yakima, and Myrna Sphar of Malott; three cousins who were raised with the family, William Fisher of Brewster, Gordon Fisher of Omak and Lyle Fisher of Tonasket. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Services were Tuesday, December 3, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. at the Barnes Chapel in Okanogan. Memorials may be made to American Heart Fund or local charity of choice.
